Its a best before date and its the recommendation of the manufacturer of how long you should keep the product. But there's no concern about using it after this period as they are just general guidelines. It means that from the time that you open the product you have to use it within whatever amount of months is specified
After youve opened the product, it is reccomended that you use within 6,12...etc. months, before it goes off.
